Our astronomer and guide

Emanuele Valli

My name is Emanuele Valli, and I'm a licensed hiking guide.

Lake Como is my lifelong home, where I grew up from birth, and my family instilled in me a deep love for our lake and the surrounding mountains.

This passion, combined with my long-standing collaboration with the Sormano Astronomical Observatory (both in scientific research and public outreach), fuels my desire to share the wonders of this region with others, including through organizing stargazing events.

Evenings will be held in Civenna, a peaceful, low-light-pollution location above Bellagio.

Your experience includes: 

  • Shuttle service from three locations: our store (18:30 departure - map link),
    Bellagio Pescallo parking (18:50 departure - map link), and Bellagio Visgnola Church (19:00 departure - map link)
  • Aperitif and Dinner at "Guss" farmhouse in Civenna, mountain town over Bellagio.
    (extra beverage like wine/beer/ecc and other extra are to be paid separately)
  • Stargazing experience
  • Return shuttle service.

We will arrive after a short walking (15 minutes on road path) at "Guss" farmhouse in Civenna with stunning views of the lake and Bellagio, where we will enjoy the aperitif, the dinner and the stargazing lesson.

This celestial journey begins with a captivating journey through the constellations. Discover the stories and myths behind these celestial patterns and learn how to easily identify them in the sky thanks to a powerful green laser pointer, including finding Polaris. We'll explore the visible planets, uncovering their unique characteristics. Next, prepare to be amazed as we turn our 8" telescope towards the depths of space, revealing breathtaking views of distant galaxies, nebulae and globular clusters. And if the Moon graces the night sky, you'll have the chance to capture a unique souvenir photo of its cratered surface with your own mobile phone!
